What is Psoriasis?

Psoriasis is a chronic immune-mediated skin disorder, touching1–2% of the population world-wide. It evolves as a rash or red scaly patch and usually affects on the knees, scalp or elbow with an itchy, sting and burning sensation. Such rashes should not be taken lightly since these can be linked with depression, diabetes or any heart-related ailment.

Contact the physician if these silver-white dry flakes or plaques or rashes don’t go easily. These may impair the quality of life including mental and physical functions.

Unani treatment for Psoriasis

In Unani literature, psoriasis is known as Taqashshure jild (skin dryness with scale formation), according to the Unani system it may cause due to some impairment or imbalance in bile & blood or inflamed dosha, and altered humors that may irritate the skin and cause intense itching, dryness, scaling and redness. The disease is also linked with natural and psychological barriers such as stress and depression, hence sometimes may interfere with day to day life.

In Unani treatment, rashes are treated by applying topical herbal marham (ointment) over them for the specific time along with some oral medications to consume, which are wholly made of natural ingredients, and the patient is advised to avoid sour or sweet things and food. These Unani medications don’t give any side effects and show remarkable results as well. Thus, a comprehensive treatment plan is followed to restore the changed humors, to treat psoriasis thoroughly.

Acne

Acne is caused by blocked hair follicles and oil (sebaceous) glands of the skin, often triggered by hormonal changes. The term acne refers to not only pimples on the face, but blackheads, cysts, and nodules as well. Some people get acne on other parts of their body too, such as the back and chest.

Rosacea

Rosacea is a chronic swelling of the face, with redness, prominent blood vessels, and pimples.

Rosacea is most common in women over 30, but men can be affected too. Problems with the immune system or environmental issues can cause the condition.

Cold sore

Red, painful, fluid-filled blister that appears near the mouth and lips

Affected area will often tingle or burn before the sore is visible

Outbreaks may also be accompanied by mild, flu-like symptoms such as low fever, body aches, and swollen lymph nodes

Leucoderma

Leucoderma is a skin condition which spoils human beauty. White patches on skin look very ugly. 1% percent of the world’s population has been suffering from it. More than half of all patients complain about white patches before the age of twenty. In one third of all cases the disease transmits to other family members.

People with such condition look apparently healthy but they are prone to catch following diseases: Hyperthyroidism, Hypothyroidism, severe lack of vitamin 12B(which cause serious blood shortage) Addison's disease (underperformance of adrenal gland), hair fall and eye’s inflammation.

Leucoderma sometime suddenly stops after its rapid spread and then for a long time patches do not appear. Later on lost natural colour can be regained also. When the patient is free from physical stress and the sense of victimhood (or colour goes on fading on account of unknown reasons), time span may go long between losing or not losing colour. During these spans some patient believe that they have recovered but the truth is that Melanin pigments have temporarily lost. Patient believes that he is healthy while he is not.

Patients, whose whole body has gone white with Leucoderma, do not look like Albinos; because the colour of hair does not change or they can be coloured otherwise. Colour of eyes also does not alters.
